Welcome to the Camp Michael website!

We would like to take a moment to thank those of you who have supported the camp over the years. It is unfortunate that being shut down during the covid issue has nearly drained our resources, however. As a result, we rely on you -our valued patrons- to keep us functioning into the future.

Camp Michael is a fully documented 501 (C)(3) charitable organization. Our board members are volunteers. What this means to you is that your donations are 100% tax deductible!! More importantly, they go 100% for the maintenance and expenses of keeping the camp open.

As scouting seems to be waning, this leaves the camp open to other groups with various interests or memberships. Churches, schools, and other civic organizations will find our camp to be a valuable (and cost effective) option as a location to hold meetings and other events. Please keep our facilities in mind when planning events like meetings through the week or larger festivities on the weekends. Our calendar is more open now than it has been in the past 10 years, so finding a date that works for you is a good bet. Of course, as always, your tax-deductible donations always go to the increasing costs of running the camp and making it available to you.

Crawford County Ohio's best kept secret!

Located near Bucyrus, Ohio (home of the famous Bratwurst Festival), Camp Michael is not just a 'scout camp' but much, much more! Part of the historic Sandusky Bike Trail, the camp consists of 37 acres of mature hardwood forests and river bottoms along the scenic Sandusky River. We offer nature trails along the river and through the woodlands, wildlife observation stations, an archery range, a challenge course, basketball court, gazebo and much more. Our lodges are available for group functions -church groups, business meetings, educational programs and parties. Each of the lodges has a fully equipped kitchen. Our primitive campsites are maintained in s safe and attractive setting under the mature hardwood trees.

Weddings

In addition to group outings and camping events, Camp Michael has become one of the favorite area locations for weddings. Our outdoor amphitheater is a beautiful setting for an outdoor wedding. The lodges are perfect for preparation prior to the wedding, and hosting the receptions afterward, or holding the wedding itself.

Businesses

Businesses around the area will find the lodges to be an excellent option for business meetings, presentations, educational programs, Christmas parties, and events which are open to the public. Donations are Tax Exempt

Camp Michael is a 501 C 3 tax exempt organization. This means that any donations made to the camp are fully tax deductable as a charitable donation. There are few places available like Camp Michael that can be experienced for little or no cost. When the Michaels family dedicated the land that has become Camp Michael, their intention was to preserve a place where area youth could learn to appreciate nature. Our mission statement fully encompases that goal:

Camp Michael will provide all young people the opportunity to grow in knowledge about themselves through the outdoor experience. We will encourage them to develop an appreciation and love of wildlife and the environment, learn history, win confidence, develop character, spirituality and moral growth.

Camp Michael has no employees. The Rangers donate their time in exchange for living quarters on the grounds. The members of the Board of Directors donate their time and are not paid. Our operating expenses come from donations, and rental fees for use of the facilities.

Even small amounts help, and all donations are greatly appreciated!

Please seriously consider Camp Michael when you are ready to make your next charitable donation
